The First Metro in Thailand
Being one of Bangkok’s heavy mass rapid transit, the M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line has become the first metro in Thailand because its initial system section of Hua Lamphong to Bang Sue is the first railway system in Thailand that kept on underground level.

The M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line starts from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) along Rama 4 road, crosses Samyan intersection, Silom intersection and Wireless intersection, turns left to Ratchadaphisek Road at Rama 4 intersection, passing Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection, Asoke-Phetchaburi intersection, Rama 9 intersection, Huai Khwang intersection, and Sutthisan intersection, then turns left to Lat Phrao road at Ratchada-Lat Phrao intersection, faces to Lat Phrao intersection, Phahon Yothin road, Chatuchak Park, Mo Chit Northern Bus Terminal (Old), and turns right to Kamphaeng Phet road, passing The Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF) market, and finally ends at Bangsue Railway Station.

• Frequency
- By 5 minutes during the Peak Hours 06.00hr. – 09.00hr. and 16.30hr. – 19.30hr.
- By 7 minutes during the Off-Peak Hours.

The M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon is the first railway system in Thailand that kept on underground level.

Air conditions were designed in all 18 Stations and Close Circuit Televition Cameras (CCTV) are provided at strategic location to monitor the security of passengers. Lifts and escalators are provided for all passengers.

  • Hua Lamphong Located on Rama 4 Road near the front of Hua Lamphong Railway Station between Rong Muang and Mahapruettharam Intersection.

  • Sam Yan Located along the Rama 4 Road on Phaya Thai and Si Phraya Intersection near the front of Wat Hua Lamphong.

  • Si Lom An Interchange Station to Sala Deang BTS Station. Located along Rama 4 road on Silom Intersection beneath the Thai-Japanese cross over bridge.

  • Lumpini Located along Rama 4 Road on South Sathorn and Wireless Intersection near the Thai-Belguim cross over bridge.

  • Khlong Toei Along Rama 4 Road near the MEA Khlong Toei and the Bangna Express Way.

  • Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Along Ratchadaphisek Road near the front of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and Soi Phai Singto.

  • Sukhumvit An Interchange Sation to Asoke BTS Station. Located along Asoke Road and Sukhumvit Intersection near the Sukhumvit Market.

  • Phetchaburi Along Asoke Road and Asoke Phetchaburi Intersection near the Embassy of Japan (old).

  • Phra Ram 9 Located along Ratchadaphisek Road on Rama 9 Intersection near the front of the Fortune Town Building.

  • Sutthisan Located along Ratchadaphipek Road on Sutthisan Intersection.

  • Ratchadaphisek Located on Ratchadaphisek Road near the Pla Thong Karat Building and the Grand Building.
